Dr. Judith Lasker wins Williamson Prize

Lehigh University's 2018 Robert C. and Virginia L. Williamson Award for Social Research, which recognizes the best published research in the social sciences in Lehigh University's College of Arts and Sciences, has been awarded to Professor Judith Lasker for her book Hoping to Help: The Promises and Pitfalls of Global Health Volunteering. Congratulations, Judy!

Faculty members of the Department of Sociology & Anthropology have received this prize in three of the past four years: David Casagrande won in 2015, and Kelly Austin in 2017. The award was endowed by Robert Williamson, who retired from the department in 1984 and passed away in 2016 at the age of 100. Research by colleagues like Judy, David, and Kelly continues to honor his scholarly legacy.
